Faith without works is Dead

What does faith without works mean?

Well, as we already know, faith is the substance of the things that we hope for and the proof of the unseen realm. We also know that without faith, that it is impossible to please God. But what about our works? Do you have faith that your works can come to fruition? Let’s look at James 2:17 which says, “17. Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead”.

James 2:26
26. For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.”

Is Your Faith Strong Enough to Move Mountains?

What does having faith in God mean?

Well, in my blog post, Will You Walk By Faith? I talked about how we should put our faith in God and believe that He will do what He said He would do, but also realize that not everything is going to turn out the way we want it too. Now, let’s get to the core the matter; what kind of faith do you have to move your mountains? In Matthew 17:20, it tells us what type of faith we, as Christians and people should have.

Matthew 17:20-21
“20 Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you. 21 However, this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting.”

Are You Listening to the Voice of Truth?

What is Truth?

How do we listen to the Voice of Truth? Well, when people hear the word Truth, some might mistake truth for a “little white lie”; while some might say that Truth is what we make of it. But both answers are incorrect, in the Bible; there is Truth. Jesus himself describes the Holy Spirit as the Spirit of Truth and the source of truth; the one who will guide us towards the truth. In John 16:13; it gives us a clear indication as to what Truth is.

The Holy Spirit is the Voice of Truth.

John 16:13
“… when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth…”

“It’s Impossible!” – Our Struggle with Self-Worth

What does the word “Impossible” really mean?

To some people, the word means that whatever you are attempting to do won’t work and to some; it is too difficult for them and they give up. But let me tell you a secret; it’s not Impossible; that is just the enemy saying, “That’s right. Whatever God promised you is too much for someone who has committed such terrible sins” But what does God say? Let’s turn to Jeremiah 1:5 to see what Jesus says about our self-worth.

Jeremiah 1:5
“Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you; Before you were born I consecrated you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations.”

Will You Walk by Faith?

What does it mean to Walk by Faith?

Well, in my last post I talked about how faith is the belief in something that natural senses can’t see, but you believe that you will receive the reward when the spiritual meets the physical. Now that we’ve got that out of the way; let’s talk about what it means to walk by faith. In 2 Corinthians 5:7, it gives us an indication as to what walking by faith means.

2 Corinthians
“For we walk by faith and not be sight”

Faith – The Evidence of the Unseen

What is Faith?

Well, let me tell you. People oftentimes confuse faith with hope. Faith is the belief in what your senses can’t see while Hope is having the confidence and expectation that someone will fulfill their promise. But to Christians, it is the fundamental belief that whatever you ask of God; that He will provide it if you put your trust in God and not in yourself. Hebrews 11:1 says it this way:

Hebrews 11:1

“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen.”
